Truthful Comedy with Extraordinary Versatility.
"Special K." is a name that rings familiar in the Atlanta area for those who know comedy. He is without a doubt the most versatile and one of the most well-known voices in urban comedy.
For too many, urban comedy has become a dirty word. It has become synonymous with a certain kind of Def Jam mentality and performer. Karl Douglass has broken through stereotypes and preconceptions that have limited less talented comedians. For more than 3 years he was the voice behind the character "Fresh from Da Hood" on top ranked Kim Peterson show on flagship talk radio station WGST which also carried such stalwards as Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck. He has also been heard on radio shows ranging from the "Frank Ski Morning Show" on V-103 to "The Mike Rose Show." Most recently, he has filled the role of "unofficial comedian" for the "2 Live Stews" on 790 the Zone which was recently featured in Sports Illustrated as one of the hottest things in SportsTalk radio.
For Karl, it doesn’t matter whether the audience is looking for squeaky clean corporate entertainment or the bluest of one-night road house jokes, his material comes from a place where the size of your wallet, the color of your skin, or the length of time since tears rolled down your face from laughing so hard - his material comes from a place so honest that it leaves the audience always wanting more.
A published author (100 Solutions for 100 Problems), Karl has served his country in our military and continues to demonstrate his committment to our men and women in uniform by organizing the "Heroes Call Home" comedy night to benefit our wounded soliders at Walter Reed Military Hospital.
